WWE Star Returns With Fresh Look On SmackDown

Some wrestling fans will find this WWE repackage job totally underwhelming.

Madcap Moss returned to WWE screens with a fresh look on Friday's episode of SmackDown.

Some may find Madcap's repackage job...slightly underwhelming though. Moss was clad in plain black trunks, and had a pretty generic entrance track too. WWE's creative team may argue that they're trying to strip away all the silliness and get back to basics with the fledgling babyface midcarder.

In fairness, Madcap did cut an intense figure during his promo and segment opposite old partner Happy Corbin - Moss beat Corbin up, then wrapped a steel chair around his neck and threatened to avenge his own chair-related injuries.

WWE's usual mix of agents and security team members stopped that from happening.

Later, Moss vs. Corbin in a 'No Holds Barred' match was announced for Sunday's Hell In A Cell pay-per-view, but the big story here is Madcap's new look. Will this be enough to make him a force on SmackDown going forwards, or will fans expect WWE to add a little more pizzazz back into his character?

Only time will tell. Plain black trunks can work, but WWE won't want fans to lose interest quickly.
