In a curious moment, both Michael Cole and Corey Graves definitely stated that Roman Reigns was free to move on from Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre after toppling the big Scot at Stomping Grounds. This must've been scripted; Cole and Graves harped on about this for a while, hinting that Reigns vs. Shane was finally over.

It isn't.

Later in the show, Shane set up a handicap match pitting he and Drew against Roman on Raw. So much for those bold claims from the announce hacks then. What does this mean for the future? Well, in the short term it screams continuation of a feud that's been battling for screen time with Shane vs. Miz. That's the more likely story to end suddenly.

McMahon vs. Reigns is either a dead cert to blow off in a gimmick bout at Extreme Rules or trudge along into SummerSlam so WWE have a big marquee match on the undercard. If so, it'll be a brawl anyway, making Extreme Rules the better call.
