WWE Summerslam: 10 Things We Want to See

4. A Big Win for Daniel Bryan

Two summers ago Daniel Bryan was called up to the main roster for a short-lived stint in the Nexus, before being fired and subsequently rehired a short time later. In the two short years since, Daniel Bryan has gone from being a total underdog destined to be stuck in a mid-card role forever to one of the most entertaining, exciting, and impactful main event players currently in the company. No one saw Daniel Bryan coming, and that€™s just one of many great things about a man with an undeniable mountain of talent and potential. Bryan cemented his status with a simple three letter word that sends WWE audiences into a frenzy - €œYES!€. Though he€™s recently changed his catchphrase to €œNO!€, audiences around the country still chant €œYES!€ at any chance they get. Despite being hugely successful in 2012, Bryan hasn€™t had a ton of luck when it comes to Pay-Per-Views. It would appear as though a match-up with Kane is looming in Bryan€™s future, and this is a perfect opportunity to give Bryan a big win in a big way. Whether big-time celebrity Charlie Sheen is involved in Bryan€™s Summerslam plans or not, a big win for the ultimate underdog could go a long way in Bryan€™s already illustrious career.

3. Something More for the World Heavyweight Championship

In 2012, the WWE Championship has taken a backseat to John Cena and his struggle with various opponents. So where does that leave title #2, the World Heavyweight Championship? The answer is typically somewhere towards the beginning of the show, and at best, the middle. While Sheamus is a perfectly fine and credible World Champion, his reign has been anything but exciting. Despite months of high quality matches, Sheamus€™ reign as World Champion has lacked any sort of memorable rivalry or high profile opponent. Last month at Money in the Bank, WWE finally pulled the trigger on a one on one match between Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio after nearly three months of toying with the idea, but never fully committing. Now, with Summerslam drawing near, it appears as though we€™re headed down the same path again. But what purpose does this match serve? Sheamus defeated Del Rio decisively at Money in the Bank, giving Del Rio no rightful claims to a rematch (or a shot at number one contender status.) With Randy Orton returning to the road and having little competition elsewhere on Smackdown, it seems crazy not to include him in the World Championship plans. Sheamus and Del Rio lack chemistry, so why not try something different? This could mean simply adding Randy Orton (though that creates two triple threat matches), or possibly replacing Del Rio altogether. A straight up one on one match between Sheamus and Del Rio is unlikely to help the World Title step out of the shadows.
