WWE SummerSlam 2013 Review: The Greatest SummerSlam Of All Time?

Bray Wyatt Vs Kane (Ring of Fire Match)

This might sound like an unpopular opinion but last night at SummerSlam The Wyatt family were a major disappointment. The ring of fire gimmick served no real purpose to this match up and it's addition made questionable just how much the WWE thought Wyatt could sell a match. The answer is, he couldn't. The whole affair felt incredibly clumsy; Wyatt felt a little too green in the ring and not even Kane could drag a good match up out of him here. After going through some very established motions the other members of The Wyatt Family saw fit to interrupt the match, using a blanket and some steel steps to avoid the fire. They then beat down on Kane until Bray hit him with his finisher and got the three count. Meaning the whole match up was effectively what we've seen every week on Raw and Smackdown for the last month but with some flames chucked in for good measure. The post match beat down also sucked; if you're going to try and sell Kane being knocked out with some steel steps, make sure the audience can't see the giant head sized gap before you hit him.
