WWE SummerSlam 2015: 10 Things We Learned

7. Cesaro Is Still In A State Of Limbo

In fairness, losing to Kevin Owens is no disgrace. It's fairly clear that WWE officials think highly of KO's work, and he needed a big win following the NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn event the night before SummerSlam. Losing a Ladder Match for the NXT Heavyweight Title to Finn Balor, Owens was able to save some face by beating Cesaro less than 24 hours later. The big question lies with the 'Swiss Superman'. A section of fans have embraced the guy, realising that Vince McMahon's comments about him on the Steve Austin podcast were decidedly harsh. McMahon declared that Cesaro was lacking some elements to make him a big star. Generally speaking, a lot of wrestling fans wholeheartedly disagree. Nonetheless, following SummerSlam it's difficult to see where the guy is headed next. Rallying back from the defeat to Owens would make sense, but that's far more likely to happen on Raw or Smackdown rather than Pay-Per-View. The next big event is Night Of Champions, so there likely won't be much space on the card for Cesaro.
