WWE SummerSlam 2015: 12 Biggest Takeaways
1. The Feud Between Undertaker And Brock Lesnar Isn't Over
The main event of the evening featured Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker put on a classic 18-minute long match that eclipsed their WrestleMania encounter from 16 months ago. Both men showed impressive athleticism (especially Undertaker, who looked way better during this match), there were exciting high spots (including one of the best Undertaker Chokeslams ever), and it even featured some never-before-seen moments as well (Undertaker laughing at Lesnar, Lesnar attacking 'Taker before his coat was even off).
But what will be remembered most of all was the controversial ending to this match. Lesnar had Undertaker in the kimura lock, and as Taker tried to lift Lesnar into a pinning position, the Deadman tapped, the timekeeper noticed buy the referee didn't. The referee argued with the timekeeper, and Undertaker low-blowed Lesnar, who then passed out to the Hell's Gate submission hold.
It was a strange series of circumstances. Logic would dictate that the referee would review the footage and make a more definitive ruling on such an ending. Instead, the referee recognized Undertaker as the winner, even though everyone, from the commentators to the fans saw Undertaker tap out (which is an historic occurrence in itself).
As a result, expect to see this feud continue. Paul Heyman will probably show up on RAW on the 24th of August to make more noise, and this legendary feud will continue, with another match between them possibly at the next major PPV.
