WWE SummerSlam 2016 Updated Card - 2 More Matches Added

Cena/Styles II and an Intercontinental Championship match are now official for August 21.

The SummerSlam card grew by two last night, as both John Cena vs. AJ Styles and The Miz vs. Apollo Crews were made official for the Biggest Party of the Summer. Cena/Styles II was generally expected to take place, but Crews challenging The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship is something of a surprise.

There was a possibility either Cena or Styles (or both) might wiggle their way into a match against Dean Ambrose for the WWE Championship, but as soon as Dolph Ziggler's boot connected with the Phenomenal jaw of AJ Styles a second match in the Cena/Styles saga became inevitable.

The Face That Runs The Place and Mr. TNA had a verbal back and forth on SmackDown Live last night, all of which led to the booking of a rematch at SummerSlam. The first match was great, and I expect nothing less of the second.

Crews jumping to the front of the Intercontinental Championship queue is somewhat surprising, but also not so. Crews defeated Baron Corbin and Kalisto in a #1 Contender Triple Threat match last night, although Corbin's violence after the match suggests that he might work his way into the SummerSlam bout.

Saying that, The Miz vs. Apollo Crews could also probably be spelled 'k-i-c-k-o-f-f'.
