WWE SummerSlam 2017: 10 Shocks That Could Happen

5. Shane McMahon Hits AJ Instead Of KO

If Shane McMahon doesn't 'accidentally' clock Kevin Owens with some sort of punch or a steel chair shot we'll be very surprised. The special referee stipulation is naturally leading to an Owens vs. Shane match in the next couple of months, so it'd be a complete shock if McMahon called the match right down the middle.

Alternatively, what if Shane hits AJ Styles instead and that rivalry flares back up again? Could we get AJ vs. Shane II over the United States Title? That'd be quite the swerve from WWE, but it may just happen. If you think that idea is preposterous, then just remember this is the same company that thought booking Shane against The Undertaker was a logical concept.

Nothing is off limits when it comes to Shane, remember that. If he can be written to oppose 'Taker inside Hell In A Cell, he can turn heel to resume his feud with AJ Styles. It wouldn't be far-fetched for WWE to book a heel authority figure vs. beloved babyface wrestler again either, let's be honest.
