WWE SummerSlam 2017: Best Booking Scenarios For Each Match
10. Styles Keeps The Title
Fast title switches don't necessarily devalue a title. In this case, it's two phenomenal wrestlers constantly one-upping each other. But that doesn't mean we couldn't use some stability.
While AJ would be best used in the main event, giving him the strap for an extended amount of time could up the value. On the flip side, SmackDown Live desperately needs an injection of top level heels, with the recent failures of both Jinder Mahal and Baron Corbin.
The big question mark lies in SDL Commissioner and special guest referee Shane McMahon. The prodigal son having a say in the end result of the match isn't necessarily a bad thing. If McMahon screws Owens out of the title, it only gives the 'Prizefighter' more ammunition for some truly epic promos. It might also provide Owens a reason to be launched into the WWE Championship conversation.
The important thing here is that Shane doesn't feel the need to look like the toughest guy in the ring. He fancies himself a wrestler at the level of the men competing in the match, but when you throw punches with all the force of a butterfly landing on a flower, it's definitely not the case.
This has easily been one of the better feuds heading into SummerSlam, but it's time to end it now lest it become stale.
