The Miz, one of the greatest Intercontinental Champions in recent memory, has had six matches at SummerSlam, with four of these having the title he has held eight times on the line. The other two matches were both six man tag matches.

The first six man tag saw Miz team up with R-Truth and Alberto Del Rio to take on Rey Mysterio, John Morrison, and Kofi Kingston. Though he wound up on the losing side on this occasion, he emerged victorious in 2017 as he faced the Hardy Boyz and Jason Jordan with the help of his Miztourage.

In 2012, The A-Lister faced Mysterio for the second SummerSlam in a row, this time successfully defending the Intercontinental Title after surviving a 619. Two years later, his title defence against Dolph Ziggler wasn't so successful, losing to The Showoff in less than ten minutes.

2015 was the first time Miz entered an Intercontinental Title match at SummerSlam as the challenger. But with Ryback and Big Show to contest with, the odds were never in his favour. Ryback eventually pinned Miz for the win.

His latest SummerSlam title defence came against Apollo Crews in 2016, in what was probably the most straight forward victory of them all, with a little help from Maryse.
