KO debuted at SummerSlam in 2015, just one day removed from battling Finn Bálor in a ladder match at NXT TakeOver Brooklyn for the NXT Championship. Owens, who failed to capture the gold against Bálor, entered SummerSlam battered and bruised, but with a serious chip on his shoulder.

The penultimate match of the night saw Owens, easily one of the most agile big men the WWE has seen in recent years, defeat Cesaro after a Pop-Up Powerbomb.

2016 saw Owens team with then best friend Chris Jericho to take on the hometown heroes Big Cass and Enzo Amore. The latter put up a good fight against the Canadians, but in the end, the former NXT Champion threw Amore up for Jericho to nail the mid air Codebreaker for the win. And you can't teach that.

Last year, Owens fought in his only championship match at SummerSlam to date, taking on AJ Styles for the US Title after he unfairly lost a title match several weeks earlier. After battling for over 15 minutes, AJ beat KO in a title match for the third time, pinning the former NXT Champ after a Styles Clash.
