To say that Jeff Hardy has struggled at SummerSlam throughout his career would be an understatement to say the least. The Charismatic Enigma has had six matches over his long career at the biggest event of the summer, scoring exactly zero wins in the process. Three of these have been in tag team competition, most recently teaming with his brother Matt and Jason Jordan, taking on The Miz and his Miztourage in 2017.

The Hardy Boyz also appeared in a tag team turmoil match in 1999 in which they were eliminated by Edge & Christian, and the legendary inaugural Tables, Ladders and Chairs match a year later, again losing out to Edge and Christian.

In singles competition Jeff has fared no better. After losing his Hardcore Title to Rob Van Dam in a ladder match in 2002, Hardy's next appearance came in 2008 when he lost to MVP. The most notable loss was in the main event of SummerSlam 2009, during which he lost the World Heavyweight Championship to CM Punk.

Hardy will have to overcome this curse if he is to win back the US Championship from Shinsuke Nakamura this year.
