The most shocking omission from SummerSlam is the man being groomed as John Cena's replacement himself, Roman Reigns! Considering Vince McMahon has put so stock into the former Shield member, it's astonishing he doesn't have a match announced for such a pivotal show. Again, a tag match is rumoured, along with a potential bout with Buddy Murphy, but none of those options are as eye catching as a clash with Goldberg would be.
Other than the aforementioned and semi-retired John Cena, Reigns is just about the biggest opponent Goldberg could be afforded to wrestle. And like 'Taker, Roman is one opponent Bill would be forced to lie down for.
Despite Bobby Lashley and Charlotte Flair also utilising the spear as a signature move, Reigns is the most high profile star to have the finisher in his arsenal, which would add an extra layer of intrigue to the match as it'll be spear Vs spear. With similar explosive styles, this would be a guaranteed slobber knocker! And while it may not be a 30 minute wrestling clinic, you can't go wrong with a hard hitting, smash mouth, five minute destruction derby.
With victories already over the likes of Cena, 'Taker, Lesnar and Triple H, Goldberg is one of the few big draws left who Roman hasn't already conquered. Maybe next summer?
