WWE SummerSlam 2019: 7 Most Likely Outcomes
1. Kofi Kingston Vs. Randy Orton Will Steal The Show
WWE may be in the midst of an era in which it seems impossible for them to produce anything remotely fresh, but every once in a while, they shock us by offering us something with real substance - which is exactly why the feud between Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston feels so fresh.
Sure, their impending SummerSlam clash is technically a rematch but, unlike with other rematches on the card, that doesn't take away from it, it adds to the excitement. The fact that the creative team have allowed both superstars to address the infamous "stupid!" incident from 10 years prior (that was long-rumoured to have ended Kofi's '09 push) has instantly made the feud a lot more compelling than any of the other ongoing programs.
The whole thing has felt authentic as, by 'unearthing' this history between the pair, they have found a unique way of adding an extra layer to the story of WWE's ultimate underdog.
Furthermore, Kofi has always been a force-to-be-reckoned with in the ring, and he has used this recent push to the top to highlight just what he has always been capable of. Meanwhile, Orton is a reliable performer and, although he has produced some dull matches in recent years, he still works incredibly well with the right opponent.
Whatever they end up producing will automatically be enhanced by the strong story behind it, so if they can pull off a solid offering with plenty of awe-inspiring Kofi spots, this one could very well end up stealing the show. Let's just hope that the stars align on the night.
