Anyone who has watched some sport since things like the Champions League, NBA and others restarted will be used to canned crowd noise by now. WWE are the latest to give it a go (although, saying that, it was a pre-taped SmackDown tradition for years), and some on social media don't like it.

One hidden benefit is that the company can decide who gets cheered and who gets booed. This week, it was Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend' who got some applause from the fake crowd noise machine. That set the scene for what happened later. Wyatt is a babyface, and Roman Reigns is a heel.

Who knows how long that'll last for.
