WWE SummerSlam 2023: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True
Sweaty, sleepless nights incoming if you care about MITB or WWE's future!
Abandon hope all ye with positive spin who enter here.
This is not the place for chirpy optimism about WWE's next PLE. No, the clue's very-much in the name - these entries are the damned souls of company creative, and they make no attempt to be upbeat. So, just be forewarned, because this is about everything that could turn SummerSlam 2023 into a nightmare of epic proportions.
Turns you'd never see coming ('cause they wouldn't make any sense), title switches for the sake of it, matches bombing spectacularly in front of a massive live crowd, WWE trolling everybody with a fake finish and more. That's all here, and so is the complete annihilation of a longstanding gimmick.
If that's not enough torment, then consider the featured image. Many fans anticipate some mega returns at SummerSlam, but they might regret tripping over one another to see what Triple H, Vince McMahon and the writers have in store. Ready for another round of supernatural heartbreak? No? Tough!
Here's all the absolute worst things that could happen in Detroit on Saturday night. None of them are impossible, but all of them would really suck.
10. Ludwig Kaiser Turns On GUNTHER
Remember when GUNTHER was slapping Ludwig Kaiser around and taking his own frustrations out on a fellow Imperium member? Or, how about when both leader and foot soldier left poor Giovanni Vinci high and dry? All of that was washed away when GUNTHER offered a handshake to Kaiser on Raw.
Or, was it? Someone in creative might think it's a cracking idea to have Ludwig be the one who costs GUNTHER his Intercontinental Title at SummerSlam. Vinci would be involved too, but Kaiser would be the ringleader, and the man leading this mutiny against he who previously chopped his chest raw.
This would suck for multiple reasons, not least because GUNTHER is a stone's throw away from beating Honky Tonk Man's longstanding IC Title record. It'd also be crap due to Imperium's standing on the roster, and the fact that WWE has only just scratched the surface on what they're capable of.
Please don't book this.
