WWE SummerSlam 2023: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

9. Someone Lame Wins The Battle Royal

The only names confirmed for the "SummerSlam Battle Royal" thus far are LA Knight, Sheamus, Chad Gable, Otis, Shinsuke Nakamura and Tommaso Ciampa. That reads like a who's who of guys that don't really have much else going on heading into the biggest pay-per-view of the summer months.

Surely Knight is a shoe-in to win the thing?

If he doesn't, then this will be the latest example of WWE overlooking the organically-over star for no real reason. It'd be hellish if LA was doomed to become this generation's version of Zack Ryder. You know the deal there: Ryder was over in spite of company plans, so they squashed his momentum at every turn.

Honestly, if this Battle Royal turns out to be a naff excuse to have Omos return (or somebody like that) then dominate and win the thing....forget it. LA's inclusion feels shaky enough as things stand, so the least WWE can do is give him a PLE win.
