WWE Survivor Series 2002: 5 Awesome Things And 5 That Sucked

4. D'Von Dudley Returning To Help Bubba Win

They had split up the Dudley Boys during the brand extension earlier in the year, so Bubba was all alone on Raw while D'Von became a reverend on the Smackdown brand. Neither guy was doing very well on their own so they did the smart thing by capitalizing on a hot NYC crowd to have them reunite at this show. Towards the end of the opening tag match, which was pretty average, Bubba was fighting alone against 3 Minute Warning and Rico. All of a sudden D'Von game sprinting out from the back and he went after the heels. The crowd went wild for it. When The Dudley Boys hit the 3D on Rico through the table it was one of the loudest ovations of the night. It was the right move by WWE to reunite the team because the experiment of splitting them up really wasn't working well.
