WWE Survivor Series 2013 Review: 7 Biggest Talking Points

6. Big E Langston Vs. Curtis Axel, IC Title Match

big e langston Big E is slowly coming over as something of a promising prospect. It's ironic that he started the year as Dolph Ziggler's muscle, and is now a key face of WWE, whereas Ziggler can't even get on the card. The bout started with some mat wrestling, resulting in some good power and strength moves. It was also quite athletic in its quality, as Big E has a very impressive leap for a guy who is stacked in muscle. It wasn't the longest match in the world, and you never thought Axel had a chance. It was hard to buy into it all too much. Big E won with the Big Ending. It was average, nothing special, but a decent demonstration of how Big E has developed in the ring. He has fantastic explosive qualities - he can become a solid mid card act if he keeps learning. After the match, Big E got on the mic and cut a babyface Mick Foley-style promo, going for the cheap pops from "Boston." It was an okay promo and it looks as though the big man has a decent future in the WWE. As for Axel, it doesn't look good at all. He had a long run as IC champ and it did nothing for him. He is completely expendable and shows little personality, given that his ring style is far too normal.
