When Dolph Ziggler sent out a challenge to any performer from Monday Night Raw several weeks ago, it initially looked like he'd be reunited with Rusev in a Raw vs. SmackDown battle for the WWE Intercontinental Title. Then, Sami Zayn beat Rusev to fill the slot for Raw. Ziggler vs. Zayn seemed like a fun match.

It wasn't to be, The Miz toppled Dolph on the latest SmackDown and became the new champion. Without hyperbole, it'd be one of the biggest shocks at this year's Survivor Series if Sami then defeated Miz to grab the belt for himself and took it back to Raw.

Another short reign isn't what the Intercontinental Title needs currently, the belt requires some stability. It's hard to envision WWE putting both the Intercontinental and WWE United States Titles on the one show, although it's not completely out of the question.

WWE enjoy booking title switches on pay-per-view, and if the WWE Cruiserweight Title doesn't change hands then the Intercontinental strap could be the one. It might be a case of one or the other at Survivor Series.
