WWE Survivor Series 2017: Early Predictions For Team Owens Vs. Team Shane Participants

1. Team Shane - Chris Jericho

Nobody loves a shock return more than Chris Jericho. The first ever undisputed champion seems to take pride in keeping his surprise appearances a secret from the internet, doing so most recently when he came back to SmackDown to challenge Owens and AJ Styles in a triple threat match for the US title in July.

He has not been seen on WWE television since and is about to embark on an American and European tour with his band Fozzy. But, according to Fozzy’s official website, their last tour date is on 18 November, the day before Survivor Series. So don’t count out Y2J jumping on a plane from Belgium to Texas - secretly of course.

To maximise the impact of Jericho’s surprise return, Shane could initially hand a spot on his team to a superstar like Mojo Rawley or Zak Ryder. They could then be written out of the match through injury after an attack by Owens and/or his team, either on the night of the pay-per-view, or on the go-home SmackDown.

Jericho would instantly make the match feel bigger and is such an experienced and polished performer that there would be no danger of ring rust. Like Zayn, he is another of KO’s great rivals and their feud could be reignited to give Owens a natural next step after Shane.
