It won't make much sense if Brock Lesnar pastes Rey Mysterio into a mush of mask and mess without an explanation for Cain Velasquez' absence. That seems to be a question WWE don't give a toss about, but they really should. Ex-UFC mauler Cain will look like a poor friend to Rey if he's willing to sit idly by and watch him get manhandled.

One short Paul Heyman promo would solve everything.

Heyman could reveal backstage early in the show that he's taken steps to ensure nobody other than himself is allowed at ringside. If he then coldly soothes Rey's worries by saying he wouldn't dare interfere because he's "an Advocate", then it'll inject more danger into the babyface's plight and put over Paul's confidence in Brock's abilities.

WWE have a bit of explaining to do here. They cannot sit on their hands and expect fans not to query why Velasquez, who so boldly stood up for Mysterio once, would happily let him walk into the lion's den without offering backup.
