Result: Cole destroys Dunne with The Last Shot to retain the title (14:10).

Rating: Trust an NXT Title match to steal the show on a marquee WWE PPV, the night after both men were put through hell at WarGames no less.

This was everything an NXT main event match should be, with both men giving everything they have, even if Cole winning after being half-murdered the night before required some slight suspension of disbelief.

The match was booked quite brilliantly to sell that neither man was anywhere close to 100%, though, and that psychology really enhanced the visceral quality of the fight.

This was incredibly intense and didn't feel remotely watered down for the mainline WWE brand: especially fantastic were the horrific-looking Panama Sunrise on the apron and that climactic Bitter End counter. The night truly was a win for NXT in every possible way. 8/10
