This last year has seen WWE adapt its programming in new and innovative ways in order to make shows without a crowd more appealing to viewers in this unusual time. From cinematic matches to the ThunderDome itself, they have definitely been more experimental in 2020 in order to make their shows work. Another way WWE have been accomplishing that is through significantly shorter PPVs.

Having returned to the three-hour-format of years gone by, each of the PPVs have not featured that many matches on the card. Last month’s Hell In A Cell is a recent example of this, having only had five matches announced ahead of airing (and subsequently adding a sixth on the night).

With only seven announced matches heading into it - one of which is rumoured to be a squash match, and another a battle royal - it’s safe to say that Survivor Series is also looking to place itself among this year’ shorter offerings. And considering it seems to be an evening full of matches with no backstory, that’s probably a good thing.
