6. Shinsuke Nakamura Vs. Damian Priest
Result: Nakamura scores the DQ win after Priest hits Nak with the remains of Boogs' guitar (9:25).
Rating: As great as Nakamura and Priest are, ending the kickoff match with a DQ finish is a terrible and deflating precedent to set from the outset, especially in a show about brand supremacy.
More to the point, how did that help anyone? Never again.
On paper this could've been a fast-paced and highly competitive match, but considering the fairly short length they spent way too much time on the mat.
They didn't seem to care much and so neither did the crowd. No match featuring athletes this talented should've been this much of a dull also-ran, with a stinker finish to boot.
At least Nak sold for Priest like his life depended on it. 5/10
