WWE Survivor Series: 8 Predictions That Will Happen
5. Alberto Del Rio Crashes And Burns, Kevin Owens Steals The Show
Before Seth Rollins' unfortunate injury, it appeared as if the plan for United States Champion Alberto Del Rio was to have him reignite an old feud with Jack Swagger (presumably to kill time until John Cena makes his return). Despite an impressive showing against the leader of the Cenation upon his return at Hell in a Cell, Del Rio has not been fun to watch in the weeks that have followed. Even pitting him against Kalisto didn't result in anything great, with that match standing out as a real stinker of the four quaterfinal bouts which aired this past Monday. Based on their previous encounters, Del Rio's match against Roman Reigns isn't one worth getting excited about, and good old fashioned common sense that there's no way that the MexAmerica resident is getting past that Samoan Superstar. With Reigns' arm injured following his match with Cesaro, chances are that Del Rio is only there to work that, weakening him for when he goes into the finals. As for Kevin Owens, while it would be nice to think that he could score an upset victory on Sunday and become the Corporate Champion, that feels a little too much like wishful thinking at this stage. Sure, it's a scenario which makes sense, but there a couple of more obvious choices to end up in the final match (more on them later). Regardless, I have no doubt that the current Intercontinental Champion will deliver a first class bout with Ambrose, stealing the show, and making us all wish that he had indeed emerged from Survivor Series as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
