WWE TLC 2018: 10 Things We Learned

8. Some Of The Wrong Matches Had The Stips

On that note, why were Elias and Bobby Lashley (two men who have only started feuding) booked in a Ladder Match when they neither had much bad blood nor a title on the line? Surely it would've made more sense to put ladders into the fraught IC Title battle between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.

The same goes for the WWE Title situation. Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles didn't need a gimmick to work a good match, but they might've benefitted from the use of tables way more than Natalya and Ruby Riott did. Some of the top matches at TLC were bafflingly exempt from weapons on a show typically associated with them.

Meanwhile, second-rate fodder got the nod and was free to use the pay-per-view's theme. That's strange. It'd be like WWE booking Elias and Lashley inside Hell In A Cell on the October show, then having Bryan and AJ work a straight-up singles match later on the same card.

On Sunday, the formatting was all over the place.
