WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Aug 17)

1. Claire Lynch... Is...Is That You?

€œHow could you do this to me?€ Brie asked Daniel Bryan€™s physical therapist on Raw. More like €œhow could you do this to us WWE?€ How could you put something so clearly awful on your own show? In real life, even Bryan said the segment was €œstupid.€ Not since the days of the Claire Lynch storyline in TNA have we seen an actress as awful as Daniel Bryan€™s physical therapist was on Raw. Not since the days of Claire Lynch has a segment been so absurd and unnecessary. The final go-home hype for Stephanie McMahon vs. Brie Bella raised the issue of infidelity. Are we even supposed to believe that for a second? Stephanie has millions of dollars, she€™s evil and she€™s Brie€™s upcoming opponent. Why would Brie think that Daniel actually cheated on her? Apparently she doesn€™t know her husband that well. If WWE had to do this angle, and I would strongly suggest they not do such a thing, then why didn€™t they do it earlier? It just came so far out of left field that it was more jarring than interesting. The final push should have been Brie vowing to get her hands on Steph, and Steph in turn showing some actual fear. Instead, she wanted to show off her acting skills and chew the scenery a bit. I don€™t like where this angle is headed, and I fear for my sanity. Claire Lynch 2: Electric Boogaloo is not what the wrestling world needed in 2014. Time to kick out!

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
