WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (June 15)
4. The Shield And John Cena: Together At Last
I was afraid this would happen, and it was worse than I imagined. Ever since The Shield turned face, there was the fear that they would have to eventually team up with their arch-nemesis Count Dorkula John Cena. Having Seth Rollins on their side prevented this from happening, but now that the group is down to two, it was inevitable that they would need new tag partners for Raw main events. With CM Punk gone, and Daniel Bryan on the shelf, this left Cena as the top star they could team up with to battle evil. It just felt wrong. Watching Dean Ambrose tag in John Cena would be like watching Roddy Piper tag in Hulk Hogan back in the 80s. It would be like Captain America tagging with The Red Skull. The Shield seemed to stand against everything Cena was for. They were anti-authority. He is very much authority. They wear cool looking flak jackets. He wears ugly neon clothing. Grown men like The Shield, small children like John Cena. Lets just hope that Cenas lameness doesnt rub off on them, or else well have nothing else to believe in.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
