In theory, sending a talent from the main roster back to NXT isnt a bad idea. The rookies get to improve by working with a veteran, and the wrestler being sent gets a chance to re-establish themselves. It worked wonders for Bray Wyatt! Tyson Kidd was also sent down, and like Wyatt, he greatly improved his value to the company. Unfortunately, none of that matters on the main shows. For members of the audience not watching NXT, they have no idea how good Kidd has become during his time away. Because before this week, the last they saw him compete on Raw was on the September 6 episode where he lost in a short tag match. Before that appearance he hadnt been on since November when he jobbed to Fandango. So as far as fans know, he is the same old jobber as ever, as hes returned to his jobbing ways. After losing to Jack Swagger clean on Raw, Kidd got his win back on Main Event, which means only a small fraction of the people who saw him lose saw him go over. Being treated as an afterthought is a wasted opportunity considered how stale the current roster is. Its also got to be disheartening for any other talent sent down. Whether they get better or not, it may not matter. Good luck Titus ONeil!
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
