I dont mind the idea of Rusev attacking a soldier. It feels kind of edgy, and almost old-school in its mentality. However, having a guy from the American army jump the rail to attack Rusev wasnt executed very well. First off, WWE tried to convince us it was real, however, if it was, they would have quickly cut away from the action. Also, they would have sent in more than one member of security to stop him. Second of all, Im just gonna have to say it: That soldier deserved what he got! He jumped into the ring! Youre telling me if a guy in the Russian army charged the ring when Big Show pulled down the flag he wouldnt have done anything? Wrestling has an un-written rule going back to its foundation that if someone from the crowd comes in the ring, theyre fair game and will be getting a beatdown. Even in more recent years, weve seen Scott Hall and Eddie Guerrero put the boots to regular folks. If someone charges the ring you have no idea what they have in store. Lastly, anything that shows Big Show on the verge of tears (hes quickly approaching Tommy Dreamers record for most combined hours spent crying on a wrestling program) gets an automatic miss.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
