5. CM Punk Vs Jeff Hardy 2009
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cg-5qbg66fI The feud between CM Punk and Jeff Hardy was one of the most entertaining and grounded in years. Hardy had been in the WWE since 1998 and a little over 10-years-later hed finally won the championship at Armageddon. Punk on the other hand was becoming increasingly self-righteous, while shamelessly promoting his straight edge lifestyle. There seemed to be a genuine rivalry between the pair that made their bouts and promos all the more enticing. Punk had evoked the animosity of the crowd when he successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Jeff Hardy, who had only won the World Heavyweight Championship moments earlier when he defeated Edge. The two faced off at both The Bash and Night of Champions, with Hardy winning the latter to regain the title. At Summerslam they battled in a great TLC match. Both were sent through tables and utilised ladders to the premium effect. Towards the end of the fight, Hardy connected with a Swanton Bomb from the top of a ladder through the commentary table, taking out both himself and Punk. The Charismatic Enigma was taken away on a stretcher but when it appeared that the Second City Saviour was about to capture the title, Hardy made his way back to the ring and fought to regain the advantage. Punk was too strong though and pushed Hardy off the ladder, before regaining the World Heavyweight Championship. The pair met one more time; the following week on SmackDown, when Punk defeated Hardy in a cage match to end Jeffs run in the WWE.
