WWE: Top 10 Tag Teams Of The Attitude Era

Edge Christan In recent times, the WWE has been rejuvenating a tag team division that had been largely ignored or poorly booked for many years. But the €˜Attitude Era€™ was somewhat of a golden age for tag team wrestling, and I€™m here to run down the Top 10 teams of that period. Teams were stars of the show just as much as some of the main event wrestlers, in all sorts of shapes, sizes and gimmicks. The exact start and ending times of the Attitude Era are largely undefined and often the matter of opinion, but for the purposes of list, I will be looking at teams from WrestleMania XIV in 1998 to the beginning of the Invasion angle in mid 2001. The list will have more emphasis on actual duos of tag team "specialists" rather than teams of main event stars put together, although teams of the latter do feature. The various teams' success and crowd reactions will be taken into account, also. In somewhat of a spoiler, I can exclusively reveal that Kaientai have sadly not made the cut. Now let's get stuck in.

10. The Brothers Of Destruction

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76VyN2U-1rA The Undertaker and his younger 'brother' Kane came together in early 2001 to form the Brothers of Destruction, initially in a feud with Rikishi and Haku, before capturing the Tag Team titles in April. They'd later go on to face the 'Two Man Power Trip" (Steve Austin & Triple H) in a bout in which the WWF, Intercontinental & Tag Team titles were all on the line at Backlash 2001; A match which they lost. After feuding with each other for large parts of the years prior, since Kane debuted in 1997, it was an exciting union for the fans of the then-World Wrestling Federation. Two near-7ft brothers who'd often perform double chokeslams on their opponents. Their entrance was a combination of both their entrance musics; It would begin with Kane's organ opening before exploding into the Undertaker's theme by Limp Bizkit, during his American Bad Ass period. Since they formed at the tail end of the Attitude Era, they haven't been placed higher on the list, as most of their tag team matches occurred during the Invasion angle. The pair have also re-formed on various occasions since the Brand Extension.
