WWE: Top 25 Stone Cold Steve Austin Moments

2. "Hell...You Can Kiss My Ass."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leG3Aq4orCo The runner-up for the countdown and surely a moment that is the precursor to one of the greatest feuds in WWE history, the beginning of the Austin-McMahon feud all started with a little backtalk and a Stone Cold Stunner to go with it. It all started in Madison Square Garden when Owen Hart threw a speech to the crowd. During Hart's speech Steve Austin interfered as five NYPD police officers fell in behind to break up the scuffle between Austin and Hart. During the encounter Austin struck at one of the officers, much to the dismay of Jerry Lawler and Vince McMahon, who were both commentating. As Hart was escorted out the police and McMahon remained behind to quell Austin's fury. Vince tried tempering down Austin, sympathising for him about his injury at the hands of Owen Hart after Hart broke his neck at SummerSlam. Because of the injury Austin was forced to forfeit the Intercontinental Championship, much to his own discomposure. Vince tried convincing Austin of his injury, telling him that his doctors don't approve of Austin getting involved in any action anytime soon. "You have to work within the system," was what Vince told Austin directly. As Vince called out Austin on this matter, Austin took to the microphone and expressed his own feelings toward the situation. Knowing full well that he was injured at the time of the incident, Austin didn't care. Only Steve Austin knows Steve Austin in his mind, and the words that spewed from Vince McMahon's mouth were only mumbled utterances with no ill effect. So by that token Austin said he "appreciated the fact the WWF cares". Then straight to McMahon he said, "I also appreciate the fact...that hell, you can kiss my ass." Directly after, and for the first time ever, Stone Cold Steve Austin stunned Vince McMahon in the middle of the ring, much to shock of everyone who witnessed. The police apprehended Austin afterwards while Vince remained stiff in the ring. The look of total shock was clearly evident, and it was determined from that point forward that Steve Austin didn't take orders from the boss. Because only Austin knows Austin. The start of the Austin-McMahon feud had legitimately begun, and their feud would span over half a decade and well into the business's coveted history. Everything that Austin did to McMahon prior to the first ever Stunner on the boss is merely child's play by comparison. The start of the Austin-McMahon feud may be the runner-up, but the #1 moment in Stone Cold Steve Austin's career is something not McMahon-related, nor does it cover his tough-as-nails attitude. It's something much more important to consider. The #1 Stone Cold Steve Austin moment of all time is....
