WWE: Triple H's 5 Best Summerslam Matches

1. HHH vs Shawn Michaels - Summerslam 2002

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QCzuoBekew&feature=plcp Shawn Michaels first match since a career threatening back injury in 1998 was always going to be a heavily scrutinised one. It pitted him against his real life best friend HHH, and turned into an absolute classic. The buildup began when Michaels suggested he and HHH reunite as D-Generation X following the disbanding of the nWo stable Michaels returned to join. When HBK accepted, HHH gave him a Pedigree. Following this, the storyline continued when Michaels was mysteriously attacked in the Car Park of an arena the following week on Raw. HHH pleaded ignorant to the situation and vowed he would find out who did it, after he had originally stated he wanted to explain the reasons for the Pedigree the week before to Michaels face to face. One week later, HBK revealed it was HHH who had attacked him again, leading to the match. The match was announced to be an Unsanctioned Street Fight by then General Manager Eric Bischoff. The two went on to have an unforgettable bout, one which proved Michaels was still one of the best in-ring performers in the business despite a 4 year layoff, and that HHH was hugely effective as a heel character. Prior to this feud, HHH had been playing a face since his return from injury at the beginning of 2002. This feud took HHH back to his villainous best, and cemented why he is considered as one of the best heels in more recent WWE history.
