WWE: The Ultimate Warrior - 5 Awesome Matches And 5 That Sucked

3. Ultimate Warrior Vs Hulk Hogan, Wrestlemania 6

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTKSFfnEpr8 Was it the greatest technical match of all time? No, far from it - Hogan vs Warrior was way more than that. This was vintage WWF, Hogan and Warrior both in their primes, the images that defined what pro wrestling was in this era. This was spectacular, the very height of what Vince McMahon built in this period, pitting his two greatest creations off against each other. Hogan was WWF Champion, Warrior Intercontinental Champion. The stakes couldn't get any bigger, and the 67,000 strong Toronto crowd was electric for it. These matches are all too rare, two genuine megastars of the industry going at it. How often does it happen? It happened with Austin vs Rock but apart from that rarely since. This was like watching the biggest thing ever to happen in wrestling. The exchanges of struggles and execution of attacks built to an exciting conclusion. Hogan rallied against Warrior and went for his patented legdrop, only to miss. As a result, Warrior nailed his massive splash for the pin - with Hogan kicking out a split second later. The magnitude of Warrior's win was an industry changer. Hogan hardly ever lost. It was the signal of a new era, Warrior taking the mantle as the new star in the WWF. For being a genuine marquee match that made history, we have to feature this in our list of awesome Warrior matches.
