WWE Ultimate Warrior DVD Review: 10 Things You Should Know

3. Working With The Undertaker And Leaving In 1991

Leaving the title picture, Warrior faced Savage at WreslteMania in 1991. It's featured on the DVD and is a good contest. "Randy was good, Randy would talk ideas all the time ... we had a lot of respect," Warrior says about pinning Savage with a foot to the chest, indicating that Savage was supposedly cool with it. Moving on in 1991, Warrior feuded with The Undertaker. It was classic WWF, and one of the best things about this release proves to be the nostalgia factor. "The Underaker is really the first character they developed from ground zero," Warrior states, "They said I was going to work with the guy first, which was a smart move, the Ultimate Warrior was really over." Is Warrior taking some credit for the success of Taker in those comments? Viewers can decide for themselves. "It was the only way to go to the next level," Warrior says about WWE putting Taker against him. By now we all know the infamous story of Warrior leaving the WWF after SummerSlam 1991 after holding Vince McMahon up for more money. This new release breezes right over it."I got busy doing a bunch of other stuff," Warrior claims, "they wanted me to return." He returned at WrestleMania 1992 to what he describes as "the loudest pop of my whole life." He cites Linda McMahon as the key factor in getting his deal done. What followed next was the tag team with Savage, the Ultimate Maniacs. Warrior talks about how Randy taught him about upgrading his style and outfits during this time. It didn't go very far however, Warrior left again later in 1992. Once again, the DVD brushes over this.
