The first episode of Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions debuted in the aftermath of Survivor Series last night, and now there’s news on another big-name guest who could end up shooting the breeze with the Texas Rattlesnake.

Said debut episode featured a fascinating interview with The Undertaker, and PWInsider is reporting that WWE officials are keen to secure CM Punk as a future guest on the show. At this stage, it’s not known if anyone from WWE has directly reached out to Punk with an offer.

Despite having no deal with WWE at this time, CM Punk is technically back within the WWE family as part of FS1’s WWE Backstage show. The Straight Edge Superstar’s contract for Backstage is with FOX, yet him rubbing shoulders with WWE contracted talent, while discussing and analysing the current WWE product is at least enough to obviously have tongues wagging that Punk and WWE could end up officially working together at some point down the line.

As for the premiere offering of Broken Skull Sessions, Austin’s chat with The Phenom is absolutely must-see programming. With a casual feel to proceedings, the show sees two long-time rivals and friends reminiscing about the career of one of the most iconic stars in the history of the wrestling business.

Having already had some fun interactions together over the years, it stands to reason that Austin and CM Punk sitting down in a similar fashion would again be TV gold for wrestling fans.
