WWE Week In Review - 5 Things We Learned

This was quite the week in WWE. With the impending approach of Wrestlemania at the forefront of everyone€™s minds, the WWE took major steps toward materializing a show that, prior to this week, wasn€™t all that palatable to many fans. They had a terrible main event, a possible (but not official) match between Daniel Bryan and Triple H, a hint of Cena and Bray Wyatt, Taker vs Lesnar and basically, nothing else. But all that changed after Monday Night Raw from Memphis, and subsequently Smackdown from Little Rock. Major movement was made at Raw, while Smackdown saw lesser storylines develop further. This has been the blueprint by which the WWE has operated for some time. Major storylines make advances during Raw, and that€™s either amplified during Smackdown, or lesser plots see incremental movement. Or both. The WWE is keenly aware that the bulk of their viewership tunes into Raw, and as such that€™s when the magic usually happens. In the current format, it€™s doubtful we€™ll ever see something groundbreaking at Smackdown (or Main Event, for that matter), both given its secondary status, and tough Friday night timeslot. There were also interesting tidbits apart from what fans saw on television. This article will break down on-screen material, while analyzing behind-the-scenes developments. The goal is to take a closer look at the WWE, and thoughtfully analyze material both on and off screen. And to kick this segment off, it€™s best to analyze the most important off-screen news of the week, CM Punk€™s appearance on Talking Dead this Sunday.
