WWE WrestleMania 1 Stars - Where Are They Now?

12. Wendy Richter

Richter€™s match at WrestleMania I was an extremely important one for her. Not only did she have Cyndi Lauper in her corner, but she was facing Leilani Kai, one of the people that trained her, and her manager was the Fabulous Moolah, the woman who€™s wrestling school Richter learned to wrestle. Ultimately, she did make history, becoming the first women€™s wrestler to win at WrestleMania. Sadly, history would not be kind to Richter after the event. Her relationship with WWE soured, and she ended up being on the receiving end of the €˜Original Screwjob€™ at the hands of none other than her trainer, the Fabulous Moolah. Richter continued wrestling on the independent circuit until 2005. Since then, she has distanced herself from pro wrestling, especially after she expressed dissatisfaction towards how women are portrayed in WWE in general, as well as bitterness regarding her exit. Nevertheless, she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2010. These days, Richter works in the therapy business, while also competing in dog shows on a regular basis.
