WWE WrestleMania 1 Stars - Where Are They Now?

11. Cyndi Lauper

Lauper was one of the most critical individuals in the success of WWE€™s attempt at entering popular culture. She won Best New Artist at the 1985 Grammy Awards, and from there she began to establish herself as a pop music icon in North America. At WrestleMania I, Lauper was in Wendi Richter€™s corner, and even had a small physical confrontation with The Fabulous Moolah, as the latter tried to interfere in Richter's match. Long after her role in the Rock €˜N€™ wrestling Connection ended, Lauper continued to play a major role in pop music. She released nine albums since 1986, started a family, became one of only twenty artists to achieve €˜GET€™ (Grammy, Emmy Tony) status, and has also appeared on RAW a few times. Lauper is also a passionate activist for many causes. Her most notable causes are cancer and LGBT awareness, the latter of which has been something she has championed for many years.
