WWE Wrestlemania 29 Match By Match Review
The Rock Vs John Cena What a letdown this match was. This match ultimately boiled down to two wrestlers going through the motions and then attempting finisher after finisher after finisher until one of them finally succeeded and got the pin. Last years match up was not great but it was memorable because of the crowds reaction to it. The atmosphere was absolutely electric and the two were clearly feeding of it. This year however the crowd had got wise and made little noise except for a few boring chants in the opening ten minutes. The crowd picked up when the seemingly endless array of attempted finishers began and by the end I was just getting frustrated that neither of them seemed capable of hitting a move. There was very little positive I have to say about this match. The result went the right way but the match itself was poor. Hopefully this is the last we see of these pair in the ring together at Wrestlemania. Final verdict: So was Wrestlemania predictable? Yes. Was it boring? No. The card may have been let down by some encounters but on the whole the quality of the show was pretty consistent and Taker-Punk stole the show. However last nights event lacked enough memorable moments for me and at times I almost forgot I was watching Wrestlemania. The main event was a lacklustre event and I feel this really took something away from the whole card in general. The card was a little too crammed and I cant help but think had other matches been given some more time they could have been even better. The absence of the Fundaktyles vs Rhodes Scholar really wasnt an issue for me but it did highlight that the show had been poorly booked time wise. Overall if the card was anything it was solid if unspectacular, Punk Taker will take some topping this year and was one hundred percent the nights best match.
