It wasn't exactly written in the stars that the Beast would master the Dead Man and end the longest running legacy in the history of professional wrestling. In fact, it wasn't really even on the cards: Lesnar is still classed as a part-timer, and big-show defeats to Triple H and John Cena after his return to WWE blemished his reputation in a frankly unnecessary manner. It's not so bad that it's Lesnar who beat 'Taker, but it probably should have been an undefeated Lesnar. Lesnar and Paul Heyman appeared to be among the most shocked in the house... Yes, the WWE need to push Lesnar, now that they've clearly decided to do something more with his undoubted talent, but did it really have to come at the expense of something as enduring as the Undertaker's Streak? Other stars have been made simply by cohabiting the same ring as the Dead Man, and Lesnar's career would not have been over if he had become the 22nd notch on 'Taker's coffin lid, and we would not have had to endure anything as tragic as the sight of the legend, resigned and dejected, all but sneaking out of the arena... Let's just hope the WWE know what they're doing. What did you find most shocking about this year's Main Event? Share your own thoughts below in the comments.
