WWE WrestleMania 31: 10 Things That Need To Happen

9. Sami Zayn Wins The Andre The Giant Battle Royale

In 2015, there are very few babyfaces who can make a connection with an audience like Sami Zayn has. Whereas most babyfaces today try to be cool or funny, Sami is a throwback to the territory days and has made an emotional connection with the NXT crowd. Zayn is a traditional babyface in every sense of the word. He shows great fire on his comebacks, his selling is magnificent, and he battles from underneath like every great underdog should do. His chase of the NXT title was a main storyline in NXT for a long time and the crowd reaction for his big win was one for the ages. Zayn is a star even without being 6'8 and 300lbs. However, Vince McMahon is never, ever going to allow Zayn to come onto Raw and be the same character. There is no way that Vince would allow Zayn to go over his "top guys" and be portrayed as someone who conquers the odds simply by being more determined and a better wrestler. So, with that in mind, we have to settle for the next best thing: Winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale. Sure, the internet lost its mind last year when Cesaro won the thing, looking as if he was going to finally break through the glass ceiling and get the push he deserved but that was quickly squashed. However, a win in the battle royale would give Zayn mainstream exposure and allow him to showcase his selling and in-ring abilities. Zayn might never get a shot on the big show while he's NXT champion but, with the proper booking, he could be a major part of the WrestleMania card.
