Result: Roman finally puts Taker down with yet another Spear (23:00).

Rating: With the match going on last, JR providing commentary and Michelle McCool being in attendance, there wasn't much doubt going in that this would indeed be the Deadman's final match.

There was a fun, nervous energy to it from the outset, and let's be honest, nobody expected a classic from Taker at this point in his career. Unfortunately, this was a sloppy, botch-filled swan-song with a surprisingly dead crowd during the middle stretch, but such is what happens when you make people sit through seven hours of wrestling.

The final moments were definitely more involving as fans desperately hoped for a swerve ending and Taker victory, but it was ultimately pretty sad to see Taker relentlessly destroyed by Roman. Due to the lukewarm build, there wasn't anywhere near the level of emotion that, say, HBK vs Ric Flair had, and so the finality of Roman's win felt like a bit of a damp squib.

It was also far too long, and one can't help but feel that WWE is going to misuse Roman's win moving forward. Roman is now one of the most over heels in the company's history, but creative still needs to learn that fact.

Relentlessly trying to push him as a face will continue to flop, and you kinda have to feel for Roman here, who has been put in an awkward position and forced to make the best of it.

The spectacle appeal counts for so much, but this was an utterly mediocre conclusion to Taker's legacy. At least the post-match, Terminator 2-esque epilogue was awesome. 5/10
