WWE WrestleMania 34: 10 Things WWE Got Right

2. The Contrast Between World Title Matches

Before Nakamura stiffed AJ in the nuts, their match was one built around endless levels of respect for the other. The action, slowly building from a feeling out process to two world-class wrestlers giving everything they had, never deviated away from the idea of honour.

Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns, on the other hand, could not have been more of a contrast.

If Nakamura vs. Styles was a slow-burning tale of mutual admiration, then Lesnar vs. Reigns was a violence-soaked brawl which focused sternly on telling the story of Brock's primal need to be WWE's alpha male. It was well done, even if the match would have benefited from a Street Fight (or even simple No DQ) stipulation.

Blood pouring from Roman's head towards the end may not have had fans on the edge of their seats, but it did provide a nice disparity between both World Title matches on the show. One was a straight-up wrestling classic, and the other was akin to two bulls throwing their weight around.
