WWE WrestleMania 35: 8 Most Likely Outcomes

7. The Battle Royals Add Nothing Of Value

The main issue with Battle Royals lie in the fact that they're a lazy way of grouping superstars without storylines together. On paper, it's a nice way to ensure that the entire WWE roster gets to perform at the event, but that doesn't make up for the booking shortcomings that landed some major superstars there in the first place. This year, those shortcomings are glaringly obvious.

The André The Giant Memorial Battle Royal has been solely built around Braun Strowman and SNL's Colin Jost and Michael Che. Not only does this undermine the other superstars competing in it, it highlights that Strowman has no business in this match. Unless the creative team opt for the comedy angle and have one of Jost and Che win it, then the best case scenario is that Strowman walks away victorious. But considering all that the 'Monster Among Men' has accomplished, is this really worth his time?

The same could be said for Asuka's involvement in the Women's Battle Royal. A few weeks ago, she was about to walk into 'Mania as the SmackDown's Women's Champion and now she's been shoehorned into a battle royal that was announced far too late to matter. Like Strowman, the best scenario she could hope for is winning but, again, doesn't she deserve so much better?

Even if they are vehicles designed to give these major (under-appreciated) stars a WrestleMania moment, these Battle Royals will add nothing of value to the show and are a shining example of WWE's problematic booking.
