WWE WrestleMania 39: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

7. Steve Austin = Diminishing Returns

Glass shatters -> crowd pops -> Stunners -> beer drinking -> merriment.

That's typically how it goes whenever Steve Austin is in town, but last year's 'Mania win over Kevin Owens felt like a watershed moment for 'Stone Cold'. The question must be asked: Will wrestling fans be content to see him show up and run through his usual cameo stuff after that? Or, will they demand more?

Pre-'Mania, Austin was rumoured for bouts vs. everyone from Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar to even LA Knight. There's still time for WWE to wheel the legend out last-minute, have him run over someone who doesn't have a spot elsewhere on the weekender (like Knight, actually), then book some beer-drinking fun.

A random/impromptu match like that wouldn't live up to the KO business last year, and it could smack of diminishing returns for the legend. Granted, Austin himself has said he's done in-ring, so this one is unlikely but...don't rule it out completely.
