Most generally agree that Vince McMahon wouldn't have handled GUNTHER's phenomenal Intercontinental Title reign with the grace Triple H has to date. Reports post-Vince retirement suggested McMahon actually planned to demote the Austrian (maybe even back down to NXT) at some point in late-2022, and even wondered aloud who the hell he was to others backstage.

Want to read something concerning? The Vin-man is back, and he might decree that GUNTHER has to go this weekend. That may well mean that full focus is on Drew McIntyre and Sheamus during the IC Title three-way, and that poor GUNTHER becomes an afterthought immediately following the pay-per-view.

Bummer.

Worse, McMahon might be tempted to go one step further and overrule Trips when it comes to the big guy too. It'd suck hard if GUNTHER went from final two of the Royal Rumble and long-running IC Champ to right back where he started on NXT shows.
