WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2021: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

3. Jimmy Uso Helps Him Do It

Nope.

It sends a shiver up one's spine to think of Jimmy Uso fighting back against the Roman Reigns-led machine and costing his cousin the Universal Title on Sunday. As newsworthy a title change as that'd be, it'd also be one WWE couldn't book properly (see the previous entry for a deep dive on that).

A belt-less Roman has less claim to SmackDown's throne than one who walks around carrying what he perceives as brand domination on his shoulder. Also, Jimmy Uso vs. Reigns can happen on lower-tier pay-per-views like Money In The Bank or Extreme Rules for the Universal gold without anybody batting an eyelid.

In fact, that should happen.

It'd feel a bit hollow if Jimmy defied Roman here for the sake of a title switch that'd only last a few short months (at best). Cesaro deserves better than to be one of those interim champs who only gets the belt as a token gesture, and Jimmy's slow-burn rebellion does too.
